Josh’s Jog’s goal is to foster childhood cancer awareness, while also raising money that will be used to fund children’s cancer research.  Our hope is that one day no child will ever have to suffer in the way Josh did – and that we will be able to live in a world that is completely cancer-free.

We are excited to benefit CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.  CureSearch is the leader in funding children’s cancer research for the past 25 years, and they have helped to increase cure rates from 40% to 80%.

While research in children’s cancer has made great strides,  the cure rate has remained unwavered for many of the more rare cancers, and only two drugs have been specifically developed for children’s cancer.  In addition, childhood cancer is still the number one cause of death by disease in children, and everyday 36 children are diagnosed with cancer.  And of those, one of five do not survive.  By funding CureSearch and children’s cancer research, we hope to make a positive impact on this healthcare field, reducing the mortality rate and number of diagnoses and increasing the cure rate and number of survivors.

CureSearch’s mission statement, as taken from their website, is as follows: “To fund and support targeted and innovative children’s cancer research with measurable results, and be the authoritative source of information and resources for all those affected by children’s cancer.”  To find out more information about CureSearch, please visit their website here.
